A case study of how Premier's Total Filtration Management creates positive environmental change and has saved $1,500,000 per year
|
 |
Premier Manufacturing Support Services, Inc. provides a domestic automotive manufacturer with a Total Filtration Management System that benefits the environment and the bottom line. The new system installed by Premier currently provides a significant and sustainable cost savings by recycling instead of replacing filter cartridges.
To present, this system has decreased the number of new filters purchased by 26,706 at an average cost of $100 per filter, and has provided an overall $1,5M cost-savings across all of our customer's plants.
The resulting environmental benefits to date include the diversion of 14,341 cubic yards of waste from landfills, and the elemination of 375.9 tons of greenhouse gases associated with the production and disposal of the used filters.
Reliable performance is the best reference. - Past condition - 100% of all Cartridge Filters were discarded and replaced with new filters.
- Premier implemented a Cartridge Filder Recycling Program.
- Current Condition - 98% of all Cartridge Filters are now re-used for a minimum of three cycles.
- On May 10, 2006 the Society of Automotive Engineers met in Washington, D.C., to review the newest environmental and cost saving programs. Premier's Cartridge Recycling Program was awarded 1st place for "RECYCLING, REUSE AND REMANUFACTURING" in the category of Filtration for the Environment.
